Artichoke and
red hot pepper, it sounds like a title for an artist novel - easy to draw. So I thought this perennial thistle was an easy target for my night class. I had a problem to get the right angle and ratio down on paper. My teacher gave me a great advice. Take a plexiglass sheet and draw with a black marker your object. Compare the translucent drawing with your sketch on the canvas.

( I am using Porfolio oil pastels ... very inexpensive)

I'm enjoying following your work for the still life class. I love still lifes, can't resist them! Your class sounds so fun and creative.
