The beginning of Still Life painting

This was one of my goals I posted in the summer to join a painting class.I signed up with the city program and had my first class last night.  When you hear Still Life the first thing which come to my mind are florals, kitchen life and the dead partridge draped over the pewter decanter. I want to explore which kind of style I like. There are so many.....
