The final cut

After over 20 years of running a printing business with my husband we are saying good-bye and pushing our refresh button for life. During the last 3 weeks we were sorting and finishing off jobs. Of course the love of paper I have, I couldn't resist to die-cut stacks of museums board for mail art post cards for myself. The prime time for steel engraved, foil stamped and printed materials had diminished over the years, the computer took over and sadly the era of the indestructible giant Heidelberg machines are over. My husband offered me to take one of litho print machines, but these heavy machines you can't   carry under your arm. How fortuned I was over the years to cut my paper for books on our cutter. I will miss it a lot. Here comes the x-acto knife again!

  1. I'll miss them too :)
Thank you for all of the scraps that you've given me and my students over the years, Ludgera. We have really appreciated them.

  3. Oh my goodness Ludgera! This is such a huge move. Advent of technological methods or not, what will you do now? I suppose retirement to the country home is a delicious option. In the meantime, congratulations for lasting as long as you did and keeping these wonderful old presses moving. Wonderful photos.
