My new Sling Bag

For the longest time I wanted to make the sling bag, a pattern by Amy Butler. I finished the last stitch at midnight and it's packed with my tour guide for London UK. I am leaving in a few hours and first I  will visit my mom in Germany . London calling a few days later for a girl's weekend and we are taking a workshop at Loop.

A nice big zipper pocket and a second pocket with a magnetic button.

Hello

Hello, I am still here. I will be on a plane very soon. Did I not turn out so cute?

I am a little bunny pin keeper sitting on a velvet tuffet.

My cotton tail made out of a rose coloured silk ribbon.

Happy Mother's Day!

A day at Mosport Motorsport Park

Forget about quilting, this was a day out with my son at the race track. Perfect sunny and dry condition to experience the R8 Audi for a lap at the Mosport car race track.

I never met so many happy men making it "their day" to rave up some fast exotic sports cars.

Some enjoyed to speed in a police car with sirens on.

There were no speed traps or pedestrians - just the driver , the instructor and the roaring sound of the engine.

Here is my son getting ready -  helmet mandatory !

The Perfect Zip Bag for a Perfect Birthday

A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday next week and I just finished the Perfect Zip Bag by Elizabeth Hartman for her. I used Lotta Jansdotter's Glimma canvas and Basic Grey purchased at
  The Workroom.

Inside the little surprise...... the nano i-pod in lime green with her favourite songs.

This is a great pattern which offers different styles to make.

Toronto Vintage Clothing Show

It finally stopped raining and I went for the first time to the Vintage Clothing Show here in Toronto. Ontario and Quebec dealers showed vintage fashion, jewellery, lace, linen and quilts at the Artscape Wychwood Barns . This former streetcar maintenance building is now a heritage site and offers a cultural hub for artists.

Re-living the 50's 60' 70' and on........

This embroidered blouse brought back memories, I think it still hangs in my closet in Germany. I will check it out next month on my visit.

I fell in love with that blouse-  if only the price tag didn't have the 3 in front of the twenty five it would have been mine! ( $325!!!)

thimble collections

cupie dolls

yarn in a dreamy powder blue

I left the show with a lost soul of a stuffed animal, some fabric from the 70's and a children's coat hanger.
